The 2008 Les Charmes is bright yellow in colour, with intense scent of lemon and peach on the nose, and a firm, full palate. There is a fine minerality to this wine, with classic complexity of hazelnut and citrus flavours and a refreshing, round finish.
This is a superb Premier Cru. Supremely fine and elegant with wonderful minerality and fruit levels. The palate is creamy, with lovely acidity and great fruit intensity and the finish is long and persistent.
Pale golden in appearance. The nose is full with a varying bouquet of flavours; elderberry, lemon, white peach and hints of flint. The palate strikes the characteristically Burgundian balance between acidity and richness, with bright fruit, nuts, oatmeal
Pale green/gold. Herbaceous, citrus nose with a hint of apple. Fuller and richer on the palate than the nose would suggest. Almost a tropical fruit flavour with a zingy minerality and freshness. A full, but still elegant, style of Sancerre.
There is a deft touch of wood surrounding the white orchard fruit and honeysuckle aromas that have glimpses of oyster shell poking through. The rich, forward and relatively generous flavours possess a seductive mouth feel and excellent complexity on the dry for the vintage finish. This should age well for the medium term.
We are delighted to have secured a parcel of this gem of a Pouilly Fume. Lots of fresh, herbaceous fruit with a hint of liquorice on the nose. In the mouth, there are delicious Sauvignon Blanc characteristics with citrus and gooseberry flavours.
Domaine Bonnard is a family run vineyard in the heart of Sancerre that has been producing wine for over 50 years. This wine is classic Sancerre with enticing grassy notes, zesty citrus fruit and lively acidity.
