Welcome to Arran’s Drumadoon Point Single Malt Whisky. This final piece in the Arran Explorer’s series is the 4th release of the Arran Explorers series. As per previous releases, only 9000 bottles have been produced for the world!
If you have never been to this beautiful place, it is to the west of the island and through the pretty coastal village of Blackwaterfoot. North of the village, the main road leaves the coast for a few miles and bypasses Drumadoon Point. Drumadoon Point is home to Shiskine Golf Club, a unique 12-hole golf course regarded by many as one of the finest in the UK. Slightly to the North of the course, its impressive cliffs on the seaward side protect the remains of the largest Iron Age fort on Arran.
This particular expression has been maturing for the last 23 years in ex Sherry Puncheons sourced directly from Jerez from a respected small producer. So no surprises when you open the bottle that aromas of maltiness and apples are obvious like apple strudel at Christmas. This continues into the sweet, spicy apple flavours on the tongue, overlayed with dark chocolate and raisins - a beautifully balanced dram.
Even if you are not a collector, this would make a fantastic gift for the golf lover in your family but hurry as we only have a few left in stock.
We do still have stock of the previous No 3 release https://www.exelwines.co.uk/arran-explorer-series-volume-2-lochranza-castle-21yo-1x-70cl-2
