Domaine de Galuval is located in the Rhône Valley, between the village of Cairanne and the village of Rasteau, in a superb location overlooking Mont Ventoux, the Dentelles de Montmirail and the Comtat plains. The domaine has a fascinating historical past, with the vestiges of ancient Roman villas on the estate. The estate's name comes from the Latin words Gallia and Uva which mean, respectively, Gaul, and grape.

The vineyards grow on 49 hectares of land, in several Southern Rhône appellations including the crus of Cairanne and Rasteau.

Domaine de Galuval possesses several different types of terroirs, ranging from sloping, sunny lands to terraces on the right bank of the river Eygues. The soils are worked and improved to enhance their vitality and their freshness, these being crucial in the dry Mediterranean climate and strong Mistral winds.

The methods used significantly reduce the need for plant protection products and enhance the quality of the grape harvest. Methods include trellising certain grape varieties, debudding and green pruning.

Domaine de Galuval, Inspiration Rasteau 2018 - fiche technique

30% Mourvedre, 20% Syrah, 50% Grenache.

The garnet colour and spicy, slightly woody aroma of this assemblage herald a very expressive wine, typical of the Rasteau terroir. The mouthfeel is long and complex with a harmonious blend of spice and fruit notes. The finish has a subtle woodiness to it.
