How long do we retain your personal information?

Unless we advise otherwise, we will hold your personal information based on the following criteria:

  • A reasonable business need exists such as managing our relationship with you, managing our operations and performing analysis and auditory tasks.
  • We continue to provide purchased goods or services to you such as our loyalty program unless we are instructed otherwise.
  • If you check out as a guest on the website we retain your details for 90 days. After this time all information pertaining to your order will be deleted.

Our data retention periods are in line with legal and regulatory requirements/guidance.

Supplier information is held in two places with Exel Wines.

  1.        Our order processing database
  2.        Our shop POS system

These databases are backed up daily, to a second server in our head office. This server is password protected and is only accessible to the IT administrator.

Supplier information is manually entered into the order processing system when a new supplier is taken on by Exel Wines.

No information about suppliers is shared with anyone else.

No financial information is held on the company’s systems about suppliers. Payment is made to suppliers via direct debits which are held on our bank’s systems.

If at any point you believe the information we process on you is incorrect, you can request to see this information and have it corrected or deleted.
