As part of our commitment to great value for money and accessible online shopping, we offer free shipping on all orders over £200 in Great Britain (England, Wales and Scotland but NOT Northern Ireland or the Channel Islands <please see below for these>).
If you are looking for a smaller order (in Great Britain), then a delivery charge of £9.50 + VAT (£11.40) applies.
Please note that, as of 1st November 2019, we now treat Northern Ireland and the Channel Islands differently to the rest of the GB, owing to a change in the shipping rates imposed by our carrier (Parcelforce). (We would, you understand, like to treat these areas equally, but the shipping rates they attract are now markedly higher and we are very much cost-reflective in our pricing at Exel).
Northern Ireland and the Channel Islands are, for the purposes of shipping, now treated as International Delivery and their shipping rates - and the discounts thereupon for larger orders - are stated below in the International Delivery section.
Collect from Perth Warehouse
For local customers who prefer to order on-line but avoid shipping charges (where applicable), products can be held at our Perth warehouse for collection. This can be chosen at stage 3 of the checkout process (you currently need to enter a shipping address, which is not used - the website will soon no longer request this).
Perth area - local deliveries
Areas covered: Perth (city), Scone, Auchterarder, Aberuthven, Dunning, Bridge of Earn, Abernethy, Glencarse, Stanley or Luncarty. COVID 19 measures will be adopted by our delivery driver.
Orders between £50 and £100 - if this size of order is for you, we request that you telephone 01738 493535 or email your order to us directly (email@example.com ), rather than using the website as the online payment page is not currently equipped to handle the reduced £5 delivery charge for this service
Orders over £100: To qualify for free local delivery, your order must be a minimum of £100. When placing an order online, during checkout – in/at the Important Delivery Details box on the first page of checking out, insert “home delivery" and at the end of the shipping phase (after inputting a delivery address) select Collect from Perth Warehouse. This will remove the shipment costs.
Order collection from our warehouseYou can collect your order from our warehouse (Unit 2, Inveralmond Road, Inveralmond Industrial Estate, Perth, PH1 3TW).
Directions: From the A9 Inveralmond roundabout, head into the industrial estate, passing M&S on your left. Turn left at Screwfix into Inveralmond Road. After 200m, we're on the right, 2 doors beyond Greggs.
There is no minimum order value required for collection.
When placing an order online, please select Collect from Perth Warehouse at the end of the the shipping phase – this will avoid any delivery charge.
You can collect your order Monday-Friday, 9am to 5pm.
The actual arrival time from order is determined by the lead time of the items you are purchasing: this is clearly shown on the product page for each individual product.
Products held in stock are offered as same-working day-dispatch if ordered by noon. Other wines are ordered in to us, in direct response to your order, and the arrival time to us from the importer determines the lead time shown.
All items are processed through our dispatch centre in Perth, Scotland to ensure that your wines are accurately checked and securely packaged. Once your order has been placed, we will be in touch to advise you of the ETA of your order.
Most mainland UK deliveries are made within 48 hours (from dispatch) by Parcelforce (http://www.parcelforce.com). The exceptions to this are Northern Ireland and some parts of the Scottish Highlands & Islands where 72 hours may be required for delivery. As we despatch your order, you will be emailed a tracking link so that you know your items are on their way. If multiple orders have been joined together as one, you may receive multiple order confirmations.
Unless specifically requested - for which there is typically an additional charge - our carriers do not deliver on a Saturday.

International deliveries are now accepted online for all orders. Larger orders - above £250 - are subject to a reduced shipping rate.
The table below shows our standard shipping costs to EU and other European nations. The charges shown, country by country, are those for any order up to (and including) 15 standard bottles and below £250 in value, up to a total case maximum weight of 24 kg (which comfortably covers 15 standard bottles). We have excellent 15-bottle cases for such orders.
This cost structure entirely reflects the way that we are charged by our international carrier (we understand that a 6-bottle case might instinctively attract a cheaper carriage rate, but this is not how we are charged!)
Beyond a case weight of 24kg (eg magnums and particularly heavy bottles), extra charges may apply - we will contact you if so.
For all orders above £250 (including VAT where applicable), a reduction of £10 (also inc VAT) will be made on the standard shipping charge shown in the table below. For orders below £250, the full charge shown in the table will be applied.
For orders beyond 15 bottles, a second carton will be required, and the rate shown below is repeated. Clearly, the most cost-efficient rate is achieved for orders that are multiples of 15 bottles. Additional cases do not qualify for an additional £10 discount!
Important post-Brexit change: Since the end of the Brexit transition phase on 31.12.20, UK VAT is no longer payable on orders bound for the EU. EU customers will thus not be charged any VAT when they complete checkout. However, we expect that EU customers will be charged VAT - at the rate in the country of arrival/delivery - when their order enters that country. They may also be charged any due customs or excise fees, but it is our expectation that these will be zero as a result of the recent EU-UK trade deal. The local courier contacts of our shippers will contact the customer as the order arrives in that nation to arrange payment electronically.
A calculator will work out your shipping cost in the basket section of the website as you go through the checkout procedure. This will be in line with the table below and and the reductions/stipulations stated above, giving you a final shipping cost before you are asked to pay. If you find marked differences between your calculated shipping cost and the table, please contact us before payment.
Please note that shipping to the USA and Canada is alas not available due to increased restrictions put in place in 2013 that have prevented our being able to serve these areas.

Return of Goods/Cancellation
Orders may be cancelled within 30 working days of receipt of goods with a written request to cancel being sent to us within this timeframe. Any cancelled order will be required to be returned to us by an insured and tracked service at your expense. We can happily organise this for you through our courier network and deduct the cost of this from your refund if you prefer. If goods are returned in an unacceptable or 'sold' condition then Exel Wines will take the necessary steps to recover any financial loss to the company. This does not affect your statutory rights. Unfortunately, outside this timeframe, we cannot guarantee the replacement of any wines found to be faulty, although a case-by-case assessment will be made for corked or spoiled wines. In the course of any given year, we only see around 10-20 spoiled bottles (from around 55,000 bottles sold).
If a wine is spoiled, we will refund or credit for it, with postage at our cost (although we would seek to minimise this by combination with other ordered products where possible).
